Kick Off Your Weekend at the Dutch Village Market
The family farms of Lancaster County produce some of the nation’s finest produce, cheeses, meats, and baked goods. Fortunately for residents of PG county, the best of Lancaster County comes to Upper Marlboro on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. At the Dutch Village Market over a dozen vendors make their way south from Pennsylvania to Maryland to sell their wares, including booths for fresh fruits and vegetables, organic meats, eggs, and dairy products, baked goods and sweets, and much more. Even if you don’t need to do any grocery shopping, many of the booths offer to-go juices and smoothies, barbecue, pizza, soft pretzels and more–the breakfast hour is an especially popular time, as the smell of waffles, bacon, and coffee fills the air. Check the website for the list of weekly specials, which will not only give you early notice on promotional deals, but will also give you a sense of what’s in season.
