Spend a Sunny Spring Day at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary

Spring has sprung! This means it’s time to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors again as the weather warms up. One perfect place to visit to immerse yourself in nature is Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary! There is a small admission fee of $6 per vehicle that’s accepted in cash or check, so make sure you have that ready so you can enjoy this gorgeous natural oasis. Active duty military, veterans, and their families do get complimentary admission, though. There are tons of trails to wander, the tidal freshwater marsh to explore, and tons of chances to meet the local flora and fauna.

If you’re looking to get out there and give back, mask up and participate in their Field Work Fridays. This free event brings the community together each Friday morning to complete projects necessary to the beautification and survival of this incredible ecosystem. Previous projects include invasive species removal, trash clean-up, gardening, and more. It’s a really fun way to meet people, get outside, and feel good about giving back.
