Bring Your Binoculars to Rosaryville State Park
There is so much history in our little corner of the state. A lot of which even locals haven’t explored! So if you’ve lived here awhile, and haven’t visited Rosaryville State Park, pencil in a visit before the summer is over! The stunning grounds of the park sprawl 982-acres of land in Prince George’s County, so you can truly experience the magic of the nature and habitats that we have right in our backyard.
One of the big draws of the park is taking a peek at the Mount Airy Mansion, which dates back to the 1600s. George Washington even attended the wedding of his son there in the late-1770s which is a neat claim to fame. If you’re more of a hiker than a history buff, that’s okay too! There are two trails, the yellow (Grassland Bird Trail) and the blue (Agriculture Heritage Trail), which intertwine in a loop that you can pick up from the Fred Eskew Recreation Area. There’s tons of bird watching to be done and lots of cute pups to meet on the trails, so get out there and enjoy it while the warm weather lasts!
