Step Back in Time at Old Maryland Farm
When making your list of fall activities to delight the kids, you need to add Old Maryland Farm in Kettering. The educational farm has reopened to visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and gives you and the family a relaxed, fun way to experience a working farm and say hello to some cute barnyard animals.
Partake in one of the farm’s curriculum-based programs, which are geared toward kids in grades K through 12. See the garden and greenhouse, and learn what life on a farm is really like for groundskeepers, animal caretakers, and more. Plus, you can make a day of it in the area, as Old Maryland Farm is within walking distance from the miniature train station in Watkins Regional Park. Please note that Old Maryland Farm is not a petting zoo, and some facilities (including the bathrooms) are closed due to the pandemic. Plan your visit accordingly!
